Vocabulary #6 Definitions and Sentences

1. Inevitable (A)- going to happen no matter what
 ex: The test on Friday is inevitable.

2. Phobia (N)- a strong fear
 ex: My friend Perla has a phobia of the dark, so she sleeps with a night light.

3. Seclude (V)- to hide away from others
 ex: The girl went to Paris by her self because she wanted to seclude herself away from her family.

4. Rebuke (V)- to criticize publically 
 ex: The mother had to rebuke her child from stealing candy at the store.

5. Notorious (A)- famous for something bad
 ex: The notorious criminal was all over the news the next morning after the bank robbery.

6. Fluctuate (V)- to change often
 ex: The lady had a hard time making a decision on what to buy because she would fluctuate between what she wanted and what she needed.

7. Candid (A)- honest; sincere
  ex: It is important to be candid to people because you don't want to have to remember lies. 

8. Sophomoric (A)- immature 
 ex: The sophomoric lady was arguing with a little kid about who was smarter.
